    Several reasons:
    1) linguists are not programmers.
    2) academics seem to think that Java is a great language.
    Its certainly taught a lot more...

    Ah yes... familiar territory, in that "industry common sense" and "actual
    common sense" are worlds apart.
    I guess that explains why so many foolish companies are spending (wasting) more...

    This suggests to me that it might be nice to put up a Web demo with
    the current version of the link parser, perhaps giving RelEx results
    as well. We used to have such a demo running in more...
